A 4-week employment programme with Marks & Spencer – YP’s can meet new people and learn new skills as well as gaining on the job work experience. YP’s will gain valuable support developing their CV.

It will boost their confidence and employability and they can benefit from the support of one our mentors to help them uncover their next steps.

Bronze Arts Award Level 1

Join our Fashion, Art, Film, Theatre, Animation, Dance or Music course for 11-18 year olds. Learn about the art form and meet new people whilst working on a project and share your achievements at an end of term showcase. Gain confidence, team work skills, get better at communication and have fun with the creative projects whilst getting your Level 1 Bronze Arts Award qualification.

You can join another course or get help to find out about and apply for other opportunities Autumn term is 23rd Sept-6th Dec 2019, Spring term is 13th Jan-31st March 2020. All courses are free

Courses are FREE and take place every academic term in our youth clubs across the city. The next term is in autumn, between 23rd Sept - 6th Dec. 10 week course for 2 hours a week

The Prince’s Trust, in partnership with GAP, are running a Ready to Work programme in Bath where Young people will meet new people and learn new skills, as well as gain invaluable work experience within retail. Not only will it boost their confidence and employability, but they’ll also have the chance to benefit from the support of one of our mentors to help them uncover their next steps.

 The Information Sessions are on Tue 17 Sep, 11am-1pm OR Wed 25 Sep, 10am-12pm @ The Prince’s Trust, Bristol Centre, BS1 6BY. The programme will run from Wed 2 Oct – Thursday 3 Oct @ GAP, Bath, BA1 1BP.

Are you 16-30? Want to have your voice heard?

7th – 11th October in Bristol, Taster Day Wednesday 2nd October 1-4pm

 To celebrate The Prince’s Trust’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion week, we want to bring together young people from communities across Bristol to have their say on how can make the city a better place for all. Learn about the different communities within the city and how you can make a difference. Have your voice heard whilst you develop team building, communication skills and confidence. Follow up opportunities and support to help you uncover your next steps.

➔ Explore Bristol and get to know the communities that make up the city

➔ Develop your public speaking skills and have your voice heard

➔ Create a Zine throughout the week focusing on young people’s experiences

➔ Follow up opportunities to represent Prince’s Trust and other community groups

➔ Up to three months progression support to find work or training

 

When:

  • Interested young people will be invited to attend a Taster session on Wednesday 2nd October if they are eligible. Each young person will be made aware of timings when booked on. Once invited, each young person will be given specific details

The programme runs from 7th -11th October.  Times are likely to be 10.00am-4.00pm

To celebrate The Prince’s Trust Equality, Diversity and Inclusion week, we will be hosting a Coffee Morning focused on sharing best practice and working together to become more inclusive and accessible to the diverse communities that make up Bristol.

Rounding off a jam-packed week of events, training and celebration, we want to open up the upskilling activities to our lovely network of partners. Come join us on  Friday 11th  October, 9:30am – 12:30pm for an interesting and insightful morning.

The morning will be filled with discussion and upskilling activities and hearing from specialists including Off The Record, Ashley Community Housing and WECIL to help us improve our working practices and better our support.  A feel good morning and a chance to make connections with training providers and experts in promoting Inclusion and Diversity.

Open Evenings

We have two open evenings for the Sixth Form Centre: 

 

The first evening on Monday 21 October 2019 is for current students of St Mary Redcliffe school.  

 

A second evening on Wednesday 13 November 2019 is for students from other schools, who make up over 60% of our student body.

 

You are strongly encouraged to come to the most appropriate evening for you, since the talks will have a different focus and the specialist science, music, art and technology facilities in our main school building will only be open for viewing on the second evening. However, if you cannot make this then please feel free to attend the alternative evening but please be aware that capacity at the first evening is limited.  

 

Doors will open for both evenings at 6:00pm to start at 6:30pm and the evenings will end at 8:15pm. 

 

The first evening, for current Redcliffe students, on Monday 21 October will take place entirely within the Sixth Form Centre with a talk at 6:30pm and teachers available after this. There is only one talk at this event and a reminder that capacity is limited. 

 

The second evening, for students from other schools, on Wednesday 13 November will have three talks at 6:30pm, 7:00pm and 7:30pm in the hall of our main school site. You are encouraged to aim to attend the talk before researching subjects, but when the hall is full we will redirect applicants to visit subject teachers in classrooms and return to the talk later. Teachers of the subjects with specialist facilities mentioned above will be available in their main school teaching rooms while all other subjects will be represented within the Sixth Form Centre.
